About the Club

Newport Bowling Club started life as Carisbrooke Bowling Club around 1884 and played on the Bowling Green attached to the Eight Bells Public House, Carisbrooke High Street.

The Licencee was the Club Captain and the Bowling Green is now the Beer Garden and play area.

The Club moved from Carisbrooke around 1919 and then changed the name to Newport Bowling Club. They played at Staplers Road until 1938 when they moved to their present Green in Seaclose Park, Newport.

The Outdoor Bowling Season is from the middle of April to the end of September.
